A drawing by Edwin Forbes showing Union troops marching over the old Chancellorsville Battlefield in May 1864.
These are General grant's men advancing towards Spotsylvania.
Notes included with the photograph read,
"The Army of the Potomac marching from the Wilderness to Spotsylvania.
Passing the ruins of the Chancellorsville House burned during the battle of Chancellorsville."
Notice the roof and inside rooms are clearly missing in the burned ruins of the Chancellor Manor.
