Fort Delaware on Pea Patch Island in the Delaware River
between the states of Delaware and New Jersey.
Notice the draw bridge to the left. The moat is 30 feet wide and, as the fort's caretakers say,
it's got four feet of water, three feet of mud, and one large snapping turtle.
Several thousand Confederate prisoners were brought to this island after the Battle of Gettysburg.
