Looking west towards the Confederate lines on the eastern slope of Culp's Hill just to the north of Spangler's Spring.
The small marker mid-ground represents the point reached by the 27th Indiana as they charged the Confederates
in the trees at the edge of the clearing on Day 3 of the Battle of Gettysburg.
