Monument near the site of Confederate Major General JEB Stuart's mortal wounding.
Situated along a section of the Telegraph Road in Richmond Virginia near the former site of the Yellow Tavern.
The monument's inscriptions read:
"Upon this field, Maj. Genl. J. E. B. Stuart Commanding Confederate Cavalry A. N. Va. Received his mortal wound May 11, 1864.
This stone is erected by some of his comrades to commemorate his virtues.
He was fearless and faithful, pure and powerful, tender and true.
He saved Richmond but he gave his life.
Born Feb. 6, 1830
Died May 12, 1864"
